Eyes are the most important and attractive facial feature. Actually, the whole eye area: eyes, lashes and eyebrows. In makeup terms also, an eye look can make or break your entire makeup look.
That being said, not all of us, are Pro in makeup, specially when it comes to eyes. I tell you, no matter how hard I try to work on that ‘smokey effect look’ on my eyes, I always manage to mess it up in the end 😀
Jokes apart, all I am trying to say is, if you are too busy to do your eye makeup on every occasion or you don’t know how to do eye makeup in the first place, you still can get that attractive eye look just by keeping these 3 points in mind:
1. Always ‘always’ keep your eyebrows well groomed and in the best possible shape that suits your facial features.
2. Figure out which color of eyeliner will go best with your eye color. And then decide what would be ‘your’ signature eyeliner look (bold, thin line or maybe winged) that will help accentuating your facial features.
3. And at last, go for a mascara that will not only fulfill your need but give your lashes that required volume that can make your eyes look pop as well as bold yet classic at the same time.
This is pretty much I do, because I know applying eye makeup anytime I want is not my cup of tea, specially when I’m running late or I don’t feel like doing much work. I prefer to skip eyeshadow part and stick to these 3 rules for those times, rather than making myself a laughing stock 😉
Talking about Mascara, I’ll definitely say that I am very specific about choosing a good mascara. I like to have a little dramatic lash look ‘without’ using the fake lashes. Hence I do a lot of research before buying one 😀 and I prefer to get travel size of the required product first, just in case you know!
Recently, I received a sample of Giorgio Armani Black Ecstasy Mascara from Sephora. I used this mascara for a full week and I am ready to share my thoughts on this product. Please keep reading…
I received this mascara in Travel size in shade ‘Obsidian Black’. According to the brand: this ‘Black Ecstasy’ features a lightweight formula with a unique brush which achieves the ‘ultimate volume, length, and curl in a flash’.
It does feel super light when you first apply it on your lashes. The pigmentation and coverage that it provides is of great quality. Application is easy too. The lashes don’t get crispy and stay really flexible which means that it’s really comfortable to wear. The mascara dries quickly, without heaviness or crusting. The lasting power of this mascara is incredible. Also, it comes off very easily with the eye makeup remover.
I’m wearing single coat of mascara here in the pictures. You can notice very little clumping around the edges. It’s not a very good build-able mascara. If I am going to wear 2 coats of this, it surely clumps a bit more but the good thing is that it never flaked on me. (Although few users did complain about flakiness of this mascara but I didn’t see any flaking around my eyes until now.)
The brand also says ‘Curl in a flash’, you can clearly see in the picture it wasn’t able to hold the curl (for my not-so-short lashes), even if I did use the eyelash curler before applying the mascara. The curling effect is definitely lacking.
So, in my opinion, if you are someone who really like that lightweight feeling mascara without going too bold then I think this is a great option for you for achieving that everyday natural look. It doesn’t make the lashes stiff at all. It’s that flexible!
For me, I’ll enjoy using the rest of my sample, but I definitely would not justify spending $32 on a full-sized tube. What about you? Have you already used this mascara? What do you think about it? Lemme know!
Hope y’all are having a very good time, specially those who are busy in Holi (Festival of colors) preparations. Its snowing right now here in Boston. Maannn…. can’t wait to get rid of this winter already 😀
Hope you have the Best Holi of your life ❤
See you soon in the next post.
