Clinique Take It All Off Duo : Review

Hello Everyone.

Hope y’all are having good time with your loved ones during this holiday season.  I too, had a great time with my family back in India (the sole reason for being MIA for so long). 🙂

While I was on my vacation, I got many lovely comments on my various posts. I want to Thank all those who kept coming back to check and had left beautiful and kind comments. And I apologize to all those whom I couldn’t reply and they had to wait for so long!!

Anyways, before the trip, while I was on travel-related shopping splurge, the only thing on my mind was to look for ‘Travel-size (friendly)’ products. And luckily, I got a few of them. I’ll try to share my thoughts on each of them one by one.

Having that said, I am sharing my experience of this Duo pack by Clinique in today’s post, that I purchased from Sephora for the price of $10 (USD). This travel-sized duo pack comes with a black mascara, and a creamy cleansing balm for removing makeup.

This set contains:

• 0.14 oz High Impact Mascara in Black
• 0.50 oz Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

According to my knowledge, both of these products in the box are NOT from any of their (Clinique’s) new launch. They came independently, few years back, so many of you might have already used them. But this range; specifically the duo combination is not older than a year though. And I’m really glad that I found something like this! I loved everything about this duo pack, whether its the size of the products inside, its price or the product combination itself!!

Anyways, let’s move onto the reviews of both products without any further delay!

High Impact Mascara in Black:

I have only one thing to say about this mascara, “I just love it”! I don’t know why I didn’t find this mascara before?  I love wearing mascaras that add the perfect amount of volume to your lashes without giving them too much of drama. So far I wasn’t ready to try anything else but ‘ZoomFast Black Lash by Mac Cosmetics’. But this one, I tell you, is as good as the ‘Mac’ one. Plus the price I paid for this is totally negligible. Surely, its going to get a space in my vanity for long!

Up is the bare eye and Down is just one application of mascara.

Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm:

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is a fragrance free makeup cleansing balm which comes in a plastic tub. It starts off with a quite intense product when you first scoop it out of the tub. But as soon as it touches your hand, it turns almost silky in texture.

When massaged onto your face, it transforms into a fuss free oil.

I use this product as my makeup removing cleanser. I take this product as needed and massage it into my skin. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm almost instantly breaks down all my makeup. Once I can feel all my makeup has been broken down, I take a nice warm face cloth and wipe off the oily substance from my face- before rinsing my face.

However, it does break down the waterproof makeup, BUT… I do feel the need to use the micellar water or a makeup removing wipe after, specially around my eye area to completely clean the leftovers. The good thing about this product is it doesn’t really leave a greasy residue after cleansing.

Here, I just used the balm before adding any micellar water or wipe.

The one thing I would recommend is, try to keep your eyes closed throughout the washing process and try to rinse your face completely clean before opening them!

Last word: I’d just say one thing; that if you are the one who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup everyday, it is a very good Duo pack for you (size wise)! The quality is as good as the price. You won’t feel guilty of blocking your money with unfinished makeup.

On the other hand, it’s still not a bad option at all for all the makeup junkies, who can keep both of these small sized products inside their handbag for a fast clean up and/or a quick touch up. So I guess it’s a complete win-win!

I guess its all for today 🙂 On ending note, I want to wish you all a very Happy Holidays… May God fill your life with love, laughter and good luck! 🙂

See you all soon in the next post.

Until then…
