For those who aren’t very experimental and would like to play it safe, a velvet dress is the way to go. However, there are a few dos and don’ts to keep in mind when wearing velvet.

Dos and Don’ts:

The first is that one item of velvet is enough – you don’t have to pair your velvet dress with velvet leggings and a velvet purse.

2. Second, it can be quite tricky to pull off velvet in lighter shades; so if you want to play safe, it’s best to stick to the deeper tones of various colors.

3. Third, always ensure that your velvet clothes are well ironed. Folds and crimps hinder the actual smoothness and beauty of this fabric, making your clothes look cheap and drab, which of course nobody wants 😉
